How to Clean Your House Fast: Clean Your Whole House in 30 Minutes.

Ever feel just so overwhelmed by the never-ending mess when you look around your house? Keep reading for tips on how to clean a house fast.

I certainly feel exhausted, annoyed, and defeated about house cleaning at times.

If this sounds like you, I have one expert tip for you that will change the way you clean your house and will make cleaning your house so much faster and easier.

THE TIP: How to clean a house fast and easy!

  • Instead of looking around in your home and telling yourself that the whole house needs cleaned and getting overwhelmed by just the thought of it, use this 3-Step Expert Tip

FIRST: Break down the task into smaller parts. Take a piece of paper and list out all the main rooms in your home or use the QUICK HOUSE CLEANING CHECKLIST so you don’t have to take the time to write the list yourself. Cleaning a house in less than 30 minutes requires putting a little planning into your efforts.

SECOND: Identify a set amount of time that you will keep moving in each room. I recommend 5 minutes if your house is just messy as in “lived-in” for a few days. But if you want to do a deeper clean or if your house really hasn’t been picked up much for a week or more, you will want to do 10 or 15 minutes. You might also want to start with one minute per room per day for one week and then up your goal to 2 minutes per room per day for another week and work up to 5 minutes or so depending on the needs of your home and your goals.

THIRD: Use a timer. Set a timer and focus on one room for that whole time. It doesn’t matter what gets done in the room but I would recommend starting with picking up the floor and then cleaning off any furniture and tidying any flat surfaces (like counters). Just keep moving and doing something for the entire time until the timer goes off. Then, check off that room. And move to the next room (after you reset the timer).

Don’t forget to reward yourself after you have completed all the rooms. Also, be sure to drink some water while you are cleaning or in between rooms to stay hydrated (which will give you more energy and focus, as well).

With this strategy, you could potentially clean your house in about 30 minutes. If you have 6 main areas of your home (living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, entryway) and you decided to do a 5 minute clean up in each room, then it would only take you 30 minutes to clean your whole house. The great thing about this, too, is that once you make tidying up a regular part of your routine, you could potentially only need to spend 3 or 4 minutes per room putting your total house cleaning time down to like 15 minutes!

BONUS TIP: Your house would look even more amazing if you had your kids participate!

As a reminder, you don’t have to create your checklist on your own. We have created one for you over at our store: QUICK HOUSE CLEANING CHECKLIST. You can make this part of your daily routine (the reason there are 7 days listed on the checklist) or just do it once in awhile. Also, the visual of the checklist will help you make this a habit so your house can stay reasonably tidy. It will become a habit the more you use this system. The more you check off, the more likely you are to stick with it (It’s behavioral science!)
